Greeting card inspired by a Swedish Christmas standard, Brita as Iduna.
The picture shows a small girl in a beautiful red dress and cap. She's smiling happily, while presenting three burning candles and a basket of apples. Bringing joy, light, and gifts, she looks like a perfect image of the spirit of Christmas. When her father, the Swedish artist Carl Larsson, saw her, he immediately wanted to paint her. Stand still! he is supposed to have said. The picture was then used for the cover of the 1901 Christmas edition of the Swedish magazine Idun (as in the Norse goddess of youth).
