Waterhouse Soul of the Rose Pre-Raphaelite CC1002 Card by carulcards

Greeting card inspired by beautiful painting by John William Waterhouse (The soul of the rose, or My sweet rose, 1908). As with several of Waterhouse's other works, this painting is thought to be inspired by a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson. The poem is called 'Come into the Garden, Maud' and tells the story of a woman and her thoughts of her lost love. Especially the line 'And the soul of the rose went into my blood' seems to be closely related to Waterhouse's painting. You'll find it on the inside right of the greeting card. Personalize the card simply by typing over the example texts.
