Holly Walter Crane Flowers from Shakespeare CC0987 Classic Round Sticker by carulcards
Heigh-ho! sing heigh-ho! unto the green holly'! Words from Shakespeare's play As you like it (act 2, scene 7: The forest) and refer to holly's life-giving power even in the harshness of winter. The words also inspired English illustrator Walter Crane to make this delightful watercolor painting of a 'holly man' (Flowers from Shakespeare's Garden, c. 1906).
